What does NCE mean for you?

Microsoft's New Commerce Experience (NCE) is a unified billing platform that provides resellers with new tools to manage subscriptions. Bringing seat-based cloud offers to the forefront, this shift provides partners with new sales capabilities, delivers operational efficiencies and drives long-term customer commitment with multiple term options.

While NCE offers aren’t available through Sherweb yet, we’re working hard to bring them to our partner platform in order to provide the best possible experience. Stay tuned for updates.

Monthly term premiums

Monthly terms on NCE SKUs will have a 20% price premium over annual or 3-year terms.

Enforced cancellation policy

Subscriptions can only be canceled within the first 7 days of purchase.

Multiple term options

The NCE billing model introduces three term options: monthly, annual or 3-year.

FAQ

Are NCE offers available through the Sherweb portal?

Yes, you can purchase and manage NCE offers by logging in to the Sherweb portal.

Do monthly term seats cost more?

Monthly term subscriptions in NCE are priced at a 20% premium compared to annual term subscriptions because of the added flexibility it provides.

Will NCE include other changes to pricing?

Microsoft announced a pricing increase for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 SKUs in August. On average, these SKUs will increase by 15%. These prices are effective as of March 1, 2022, whether you’re on the legacy platform or NCE. For more details, read Microsoft’s announcement.

Are there changes to the cancellation policy with NCE?

A new enforced cancellation policy replaces the previous prorated cancellation policy. While NCE still offers a prorated amount for cancellations, it only applies if the cancellation is done within 7 days of the subscription purchase.

Can a customer increase and/or decrease their license counts on an annual subscription?

Seat counts can be increased at any time but can only be decreased within 7 days after the initial order or renewal date.

For customers that require flexibility over the course of the year, we recommend a combination of monthly and annual term seats so that monthly term seat counts can be changed on a monthly basis to reflect a customer’s needs.

Can customers have subscriptions on both legacy and NCE at the same time?

Microsoft has announced the end of legacy subscriptions starting January 1, 2024. Customers who still have legacy Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 subscriptions will need to migrate to an equivalent NCE SKU. This applies to all SKUs available through NCE.

Can annual terms be converted to monthly terms?

No, annual terms can only be converted to a 3-year term.

The following term changes are allowed:

  • Monthly to annual
  • Monthly to 3-year
  • Annual to 3-year

Not allowed:

  • Annual to monthly
  • 3-year to monthly
  • 3-year to annual

Can customers transfer their subscriptions from one partner to another?

Transfer of a customer subscription from one partner tenant to another partner tenant is not supported in New Commerce.

What products are available on NCE for a 3-year term?

Please log in to the Sherweb portal to see term options for all products.

Do customers have to sign a new agreement when they move from legacy CSP to NCE?

No, if the customer has already accepted the Microsoft Cloud Agreement (MCA), they do not need to accept it again.
